Get in Form is a WDC2012 development project of the City of Helsinki Sports Department and its partners.

Aim of the project 

The aim of the project is to increase the amount of daily physical activity and to provide low-threshold physical activity opportunities for all age groups and people.

Implementation
The project was coordinated by the City of Helsinki Sports Department and the City of Helsinki Construction Agency.

The service concept, the fitness equipment and the look of the project were designed by the Design Reform team. Betonipallas Oy participated in the design of concrete sections. Landscape and site design was handled by Näkymä Oy. Wood and metal parts were manufactured by Lappset Group Oy and Vihdin Betoni Oy was responsible for the production of concrete parts.

Project Outcome
Prototypes of the project were installed on the route around Töölönlahti in Helsinki and the opening ceremony was held on May 10, 2012. The route provides all city dwellers with easy excitement in addition to the official sports facilities of the Finnish Sports Department. The fitness trail gives children, adults and the elderly a new way to enjoy exercise. The project supports the recreational use and general development of the Töölönlahti area in Helsinki.
