36-46% of all heating energy in a block of flats goes to waste with the exhaust air. Recair Economizer can save up to half of the heating costs of an apartment building. Recair Oy is Finland’s leading manufacturer of ventilation equipment. The company’s new Economizer product line is an intelligent heat recovery system for apartment buildings developed for the northern climate. The product line was unveiled on October 9, 2012 at FinnBuild 12 in Helsinki.

Design Reform has been a project development partner from the beginning. Design Reform has been responsible for product design, usability and project management. The mechanical design of the product was carried out by Design Reform in cooperation with Suomimedia Oy.

Above all, the project has been a collaborative project where all parts of the system have been developed with Recair’s own team of experts. The outdoor unit on the roof is designed to be as low as possible and easy to maintain. The indoor unit system, which enters the heat distribution room, was designed to be modular and designed for narrow doorways. Easy installation has been at the center of the design throughout the project, both in the narrow passageways of the basement spaces and in the roof-mounted parts.
